What T Funk Era Is

T Funk Era is a growing independent archive of unexplained phenomena, strange history, cryptids, UFOs and UAPs, conspiracy claims, folklore, unusual events, and other stories that refuse to stay neatly inside the ordinary.

The goal is not to prove that every strange claim is true. The goal is to preserve the story, document what can be verified, identify where the evidence becomes uncertain, and give each case a place in the archive.

Some Case Files concern well-documented historical events. Others involve disputed testimony, legends, disputed evidence, or stories that may never be resolved. They are included because they remain culturally, historically, or simply wonderfully strange.

How the Case Files Are Researched

Each Case File starts with the basic question: What actually happened?

Whenever possible, the archive works from identifiable sources such as historical records, contemporary reporting, official documents, books, interviews, photographs, archival material, and reputable secondary research.

Claims are compared across sources rather than treated as fact simply because they have been repeated many times.

When the record is uncertain, disputed, alleged, or based primarily on eyewitness testimony or folklore, the Case File should say so.

The aim is to preserve the mystery without pretending that uncertainty is evidence.

Sources used for individual cases are listed whenever practical so readers can continue the investigation themselves.

Evidence Ratings

The evidence rating measures the strength of the material supporting a Case File. It does not measure how extraordinary, exciting, or believable the final explanation is.

★☆☆☆☆ — Very Weak Evidence

Mostly folklore, hearsay, anonymous claims, later retellings, or material that cannot be independently verified.

★★☆☆☆ — Limited Evidence

Some identifiable testimony, reporting, or documentation exists, but major gaps, contradictions, or reliability problems remain.

★★★☆☆ — Moderate Evidence

The underlying event is reasonably well documented through multiple sources, witnesses, records, photographs, or other supporting material, but important questions remain unresolved.

★★★★☆ — Strong Evidence

Substantial documentation or multiple independent lines of evidence support the core event. Disagreement may remain over what caused it or how it should be interpreted.

★★★★★ — Exceptional Evidence

The underlying event is extremely well documented through strong primary records, physical evidence, multiple reliable witnesses, official documentation, or comparable sources. A five-star rating still does not mean that an extraordinary explanation has been proven.

The rating applies to the evidence surrounding the case, not necessarily to the most sensational explanation attached to it.

What “T Funk Take” Means

The T Funk Take is the opinion and interpretation section of a Case File.

It is deliberately separated from the factual summary of the case.

This is where I can speculate, point out something that bothers me, suggest an explanation, admit that I have no idea what happened, or occasionally wander farther down the rabbit hole than the available evidence strictly permits.

The T Funk Take should never be mistaken for a source, a confirmed fact, or the official conclusion of the archive.

It is simply the archivist looking at the file and saying:

“Here's what I make of it.”
